Important info re: Winter Sleepout TONIGHT!
Posted on | August 6, 2010 | Comments
Hi all
We’re firing on all cylinders for the Winter Sleepout tweet-a-thon
tonight, but just wanted to update you on what’s happening and to
make sure you hadn’t forgotten!
It all kicks-off from around 5pm and the Citiplace Community Centre is
on the concourse above Perth train station, across the overpass from
Forest Chase.
What to bring?
Technology: Being a tweet-a-thon, make sure you bring your iPhone /
Blackberry / laptop / camera so you can join in the chatter throughout
the night and share your piccies. The hash tag for the night will be
either #WSO or #WinterSleepout
Sleeping stuff: we’re indoors, but bring a sleeping bag, blow up
mattress, pillow, blanket etc.
Food & drink: some great people have come on-board to supply us with
food and drink for the night, which we’ll share at a nominal cost to
raise extra funds for the cause. Il Padrino and Marco’s Pizza will be
available for $5 (3-4 slices), Mooba choc brownies for a gold coin
donation, cup cakes for a donation, McDonald’s Nudie Juices for a gold
coin donation and Espresso Delight coffee for free. Filtered water is
also available :)
Entertainment: We’re setting up three screens, one with a dedicated
twitter feed, one linking to the WSO facebook group and our third screen
will be showing movies – Footloose, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Peter
Sellars’ The Party and Alfred Hitchock’s The Birds, etc. Eclectic -
thanks Video Ezy Wembley!
Fundraising: I think we should encourage all donations though

Winter Sleepout PTUB

Fancy spending the night with @freocookster, @miss_yolie and the whole dang PTUB gang? Well here’s your chance!
The Mission Australia Winter Sleepout to raise money for Australia’s homeless community has been around since 1988. In recent years the sleeping bags have been packed in mothballs… but, IT’S BACK and for the first time ever, we’re taking it online!
The 2010 Winter Sleepout campaign takes place during National Homeless Persons Week from 2 – 8 August, with a special #WinterSleepoutTUB tweet-a-thon locked in for Friday, 6 August at the Citiplace Community Centre in Perth (details below).
This event will be exclusive to PTUB, with limited places available, so you must RSVP via the PTUB Facebook events page. If you simply cannot do the businesses there, then DM @freocookster with your details.
We’ll be putting on some food and drink, but as they say in the classics, you’re encouraged to bring a plate. Please note, this will be an ALCOHOL-FREE event and all people aged under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
We’re also locking in some form of entertainment, so keep your eyes peeled for details.
*****Please take a moment after you’ve RSVPd to register on the Winter Sleepout Everyday Hero website and start badgering friends and family to flex the plastic and help build your personal donations tally. @miss_yolie has created a page already: http://www.everydayhero.com.au/wintersleepoutTUB*****
If you can’t make the PTUB tweet-a-thon, but you still want to join in, you can! We’re encouraging people across Australia to organise their own Winter Sleepout events – get a group together in your workplace, school, community hall, or backyard, then stay in touch with us by using the twitter hash tag #wintersleepout.
There are 105,000* homeless Australians who need your support this winter, so contact wintersleepout@missionaustralia.com.au to order your Winter Sleepout toolkit.
The important details
Date: Friday – Saturday, 6-7 August 2010
Time: 5.00pm – 7.30am

May Update

Hi there :)
We’ve just been informed about the Wagamama national tweetup on 31st May at Subiaco! Food, prizes, Foursquare incentives. $5 ticket donation to Save Children Australia!
Also, don’t forget about GrilldTUB this Sunday night from 5:30 at Grill’d Burgers in Mt Lawley (free chips or Pepsi/Pepsi Max with every meal).
We’ll also be organising the next Girl & Bloke TUBs very soon. GirlTUB will quite likely be at Lone Rangers Shooting (after the interest from ladies we received after the boys had their BlokeTUB there!) with cocktails afterwards. Guns, cocktails & high heels….what a great combination :) Guys – if you have any suggestions for the next BlokeTUB, please DM or @reply @PTUB!
We haven’t forgotten about RollerTUB & IceSkatingTUB either. They’ll be organised in the next couple of months. These would be a great opportunity for a family day or night out :)
Keep your eyes peeled to http://twitter.com/PTUB for all the deets!
As usual, suggestions are welcome and hit us up if you’d like to organise your very own PTUB or miniTUB :)
xx
